A Trip to Ambergris Caye

One of my bucket list wishes was to swim with sea turtles. Last year, we traveled to Ambergris Caye, Belize in search of the Belize Barrier Reef and some pretty incredible snorkeling.

While Ambergris Caye is home to the world’s largest living barrier reef, we learned after arriving that it isn’t exactly known for turtles. But, our tour guides took on the challenge of chasing Sassy the Sea Turtle around the reef to allow me to swim with her. Before our trip, I invested in new underwater gear and purchased the Fantasea underwater housing and dome port for my Sony a6500. It performed beautifully under the water and was the perfect choice for the trip.

We spent 4 days snorkeling and swimming in awe of all of the life under the sea. When we weren’t underwater, we admired the gorgeous tropical flowers, the breathtaking sunsets, and the local color of the town.
