Teaching at Click Away Seattle Photography Conference

One of the most wonderful things in the world is getting together with friends, creating memories, and doing what you love.  Click Away isn't just a photography conference, it's an experience.  Saying you went to Click Away to learn how take photographs is like saying you went to college to learn advanced chemistry.  It's just so much more than that.  My first Click Away experience in San Antonio was incredible so when it came time to register for Click Away 2016 in Seattle, I knew that not only did I want to attend, but I wanted to teach.  I submitted my application and nervously waited while the panel reviewed the submissions and I finally learned that I was selected to teach a boutique session.  My session was titled Uncovered Beauty:  Exposing the Details of the Natural World. On the first morning on the conference,  I spent time with an incredible small group of talented women photographers.  We explored the Seattle Center, uncovering the details so often overlooked by others.  It was such an amazing experience and I'm so grateful to Click and Company for the incredible opportunity.

After my work teaching was done, I was free to spend time attending sessions, exploring Seattle, and hanging out with friends.  I tell you, we conquered that city.  We watched the sunset at Alki Beach and witnessed the Seattle skyline come to life at night.  We ate, ate, ate, and drank our way through all the top spots.  We saw Pike's Place Market before the vendors were even awake.  We rode the Great Wheel, ran for the ferry on Bainbridge Island, and laughed the whole way.

Seattle Night Photography at Click Away Seattle

One of the traditions at the Click Away conference is the Voice Collection.  Voice is an annual digital photography competition and image collection hosted by CLICK Magazine and Clickin Moms. The purpose of VOICE is to recognize and celebrate images that encapsulate the spirit of this special collection – vision, originality, inspiration, creativity and overall excellence. (from CM)  I was so incredibly honored to have one of my photographs selected for the Still Life collection.  Other than seeing my image among so many incredible images, the biggest thrill was putting on a fancy dress and celebrating at the Voice gala.
