If I'm lucky, once a year all of my orchids will bloom at the same time. Orchids are triggered to bloom when temperatures have a variance of about 15 degrees between day and night. In our south facing sunroom, this usually occurs towards the end of winter when the sunlight streams through the windows unfiltered by the trees but the nights remain cold because we keep our thermostat pretty low. This year was one of those special years when each plant put on a beautiful display of blooms. I thought an orchid photo shoot was in order to commemorate the occasion.
