A Walk through Smithfield and Windsor Castle Park
We've had an unseasonably warm winter. We've had a few cold spells here and there, but nothing that lasted more than a few days and the temperatures shoot up to 60+ again. On these warm days, my photo girls and I try to sneak away for a few hours together with our cameras.
A couple of weeks ago, we hit the road to visit the tiny town of Smithfield (ham, anyone?!). We ate a delicious lunch and then tightened up our walking shoes to tour the town.
We walked through Windsor Castle park, where the main buildings were under going repairs and the scenery wasn't much to see. Tucked in between caution tape and construction equipment, this decaying house held my attention for quite some time.
After tiring of the park, we walked towards Main Street, admiring the Victoria style homes along the way. I always have imagined a princess living out a fairytale inside these walls.
Just before the downtown area, stands a beautiful church. It's architecture seemed so out of place in the historic little town.
Finally we arrived at Main Street, which felt much like a step back in time. If only the streets were lined with classic cars instead of Camrys and Corollas.
