We spent my birthday at Timberline Lodge on the shoulders of Oregon’s Mount Hood. We had first visited 12 years earlier for my 30th birthday and it was a treat to return. On the first day of my 42nd year, I was gifted with this beautiful sunrise.

Situated at 6,000 feet, standing at Timberline Lodge makes you feel as if you could just walk up to the top of Mount Hood.
