The Milky Way over Mount Baker

I spent much of 2020 obsessing over the Milky Way. I spent countless hours studying how to create better images, planning when was the best time for shooting, and choosing backpacking locations based specifically on where I would have the greatest chance of success.

One of the products of that research was spending the night on the edge of Skyline Divide under the shadow of Mount Baker. Around dinner time, clouds filled the sky and I reluctantly crawled in to the tent to pout. Fortunately, those clouds didn’t linger and cleared in time for an epic sunset and a star filled sky.
