A Visit from a Monarch

I couldn't help but notice the visitor that stopped by the garden as we were rushing around trying to get packed to head to Hatteras for the weekend.  Despite the hurry, I took a few moments to grab my camera and watch as the beautiful Monarch butterfly fluttered between the flowers, always returning to the lantana that seems to have taken over the butterfly garden.

The butterflies have been less prevalent this year, but it seems maybe they are stopping by for visits as they migrate south for the winter.  Whatever the reason, I'll gladly welcome them.
